Rich asked: “Having a problem with my Samsung Alpha phone. Every time I put it on charge, the battery continues to drain even when it’s on charge. I don’t know if it’s a common fault or anything you can help me out with.”
We’re not aware of any fault with the phone itself that would cause that.
The Galaxy Alpha originally came out in 2014, so it is possible that your battery is just getting old, but usually you’d notice that it’s not holding a charge as long, more than it not charging all together.
If the battery is discharging while the phone is plugged in, that means that it’s getting less power from the charger than it’s using. That could mean two things, the first one is that something is just wrong with the charger. USB chargers are common, so you shouldn’t have too hard a time finding another charger to test it with. We suspect that this is what’s going on. Chargers are pretty durable, but sometimes they do break, just like any other piece of electronics does.
You could also be running something on your phone that is taxing your processor and pulling more power. That happens sometimes with things like navigation apps, but we doubt that’s what’s causing your issue because you would’ve noticed the phone getting hot too.
