Temporary Fix For Apple’s FaceTime Bug

Apple confirmed it started disabling the Group FaceTime feature for all users, but the issue still impacts one-on-one FaceTime calls. Until the company rolls out a fix, here’s how to disable FaceTime on your Apple device:

1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad

2. Scroll down and select FaceTime

3. Toggle off the green button at the top of the screen.

To turn it off on a Mac, follow these steps:

1. Open the FaceTime app

2. Go to FaceTime on top of the screen

3. Select “Turn FaceTime Off.”

Jack in Brooklyn, New York asked: “You said you have, personally, a QI charger for the car that goes on the vent. But yours, when you push a button, it grabs the phone and locks it in place. Can you tell me who makes that? I think it’s kinda cool, not to have to mess with squeezing it between two clips while you’re driving. I’d love to know which one that is.

Sure Jack. It’s the X-Doria Defense Helix Car Mount with Qi wireless charging and it works with Android and iPhones. You simply squeeze a button to attach it to your Air Condition (or heater I guess) Vent.  You don’t even need to push any button because it has a proximity sensor so as you move your phone towards the cradle, it’s arms open automatically.

You then place your phone in the cradle and the little robotic arms sorta ‘hug’ your phone. You just plug a standard charging cable into the cradle — not your phone obviously – because it’s wireless Qi, so it charges as your driving. Then, to remove your phone, you just lightly tap a little button on the rear top and … voila! The little arms open and you grab your phone.

The Defense Helix Mount will cost you about $59. In addition to the robotic arms sense your phone and automatically adjust to secure your device, it’s enabled with 7.5W and 10W charging capability, so this Defense Helix provides the most efficient and powerful charge your that device can take.
