Strutt has launched the Ev1, a self-driving scooter designed to autonomously navigate indoor environments using simple voice commands at CES 2026.
After initially mapping the space, users can just say where they want to go, for example “go to the couch”, and the scooter will drive there on its own. It also allows users to teach it new locations by manually moving to a spot and giving it a name, like marking the refrigerator.
The Ev1 comes equipped with advanced navigation technology, including two lidar units, 10 time-of-flight sensors, six ultrasonic sensors, and two cameras, which work together to detect obstacles both near and far. It can travel at speeds of up to 8 mph and includes a Co-Pilot Plus feature that helps it maneuver through tight or curved spaces. By simply pushing the joystick forward, the scooter automatically adjusts its path to avoid collisions and stops if someone or something is in the way.
While the Ev1 comes with a price tag of $7,499, it’s available at a discounted launch price of $5,299 and it can be purchased directly through the company’s website.
