FaceTime Alternatives For Android Phones

Karen in Weymouth, Massachusetts listening on AM680 WRKO - “The Talk of Boston” wants to FaceTime with her Android-owning friends

FaceTime

Karen asked: “I am technologically illiterate. I just have an iPhone and love the Facetime. There’s other people I want to communicate with on Facetime, but they don’t have an iPhone. Is there a way to download Facetime onto an Android phone?”

FaceTime is an Apple feature, so you can’t exactly have FaceTime on Android, but you can use one of the many substitutes.

Skype, and Hangouts are some of the most popular ones with clients for both Android and iPhone, and computers as well.

FaceTime is better integrated into iPhones and there’s a good chance you will find either of the other two a little clunkier (you will need to set them up, add friends, etc.), but they should work fine regardless of what platforms the other people are using.
