We Share Our Views On iOS and Android

Dylan in Tupelo, Mississippi listens on 100.9 FM asked us about iPhone and Android

iPhone Samsung

Dylan asked: “Would you like the iPhone or Android better?”

We’ve answered that question a bunch of times, but people still ask it. No one can pick a best between iPhone and Android phones. Both iOS and Android are solid, high quality, easy to use operating systems supported by an ocean of apps.

If you use Apple computers or tablets, then an iPhone makes sense for you because you will already be using an Apple ID, and your phone will work together with the Apple computer or tablet you already have. Some will also argue that the iTunes app store has more high quality offerings than the Google Play store, but we would have to take issue with that. What is true is that apps tend to come out first for iPhone and then later for Android, but it’s been a long while since we saw any major new app that wasn’t on both platforms.

It’s been a long while since we saw any major new app that wasn’t on both platforms.

iPhone is nice in that you get software updates directly from Apple without waiting for the latest version of Android to pass through the company making your phone, where they add their customizations to it, and your wireless provider, where they add their apps and customizations to it, finally reaching you just in time for the next version of Android to show up.

You can solve that, if it annoys you, by purchasing a Google Pixel or Pixel XL smartphone. These models get pure Android directly from Google, so they will always be running the latest version of that operating system.

So which is better? They’re both excellent. If you don’t use other Apple devices, then an Android phone might make sense because you can get somewhat nicer hardware for less money, but if you decide to go iPhone you will absolutely not be disappointed in the new iPhone 7. It is far and away the best iPhone, ever.

This probably didn’t clear anything up for you, but it’s the best and most accurate answer we can give. Thanks for listening!
