When picking a hard drive, RPM or rotations per minute should be considered. Hard drives have spinning disks, so naturally the faster it spins the faster the drive can read or write data. This is more important for drives you use for work, like in editing video or photos, or if you move a lot of data to make copies for your work flow. But also consider capacity. The higher the capacity the higher the Ariel density which means more bits per square inch so the drive can read and write even faster.
