Asus Shows Off Foldable Laptop At CES 2022

© by Asus

Asus unveiled several new laptop designs at CES ranging from traditional models to a foldable computer they named the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED.

As the name implies, the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is a 17.3″ computer with a foldable OLED screen.

It’s not a traditional laptop, though. The Zenbook 17 Fold OLED can be used in tablet mode (just a regular flat screen, it can be folded into a traditional laptop shape (think a L shape with the “screen” section folded up and the “keyboard” section still flat on that table), or it can be folded in half to turn it into a smaller (but thicker) package to carry around.

If you’re not too excited about the idea of typing on glass all day long with your palms also resting on it, you can pair an external keyboard, and Asus would like it to be the Asus ErgoSense, which will make your foldable laptop basically look like a regular laptop with an external keyboard.

The 17 Fold OLED runs on a 12th generation Intel processor, Harmon Kardon speakers, and Asus promises that the screen won’t be damaged by folding like foldable smartphone screens have been.

Asus didn’t mention price or availability.
