Joseph in Pennsylvania participating with the AskDave button at IntoTomorrow.com asked: “I use several different e-mail accounts and over the years I’ve use an app that kind of consolidates things. It’s pretty easy to use… or it’s “been” easy to use, anyway. They have a sister app called Blue Mail and lately they’ve gotten kinda buggy and hard to use. I’ve tried a few other e-mail apps that are kind of similar or kind of more on the “bizarre” side and extremely non-intuitive. Is there anything you can recommend for that – especially for mobile for either Apple or Android?”
Joseph, 99% of people just stick to their stock mail apps, and theres a good reason for that. For example, the iOS mail app can handle multiple accounts, it gives you a unified inbox, it can delete, archive, mark as read and unread, flag, format text and attach images, videos, and random files, and really what else do you need?
Android phones have more variety since each manufacturer tends to try to shoehorn their own email app, but still, they all basically do the basics so few people bother to replace them.
In iOS you can give SparkMail and AirMail a try if youre not happy with the stock iOS Mail app.
If you want to try something else on Android, since you need to manage multiple accounts, All Email Access may work for you, if your accounts are all Google accounts then Google offers a Gmail app on both iOS and Android that is popular with some users, though it doesnt give you a unified inbox.
If you use a different provider they will also almost certainly have their own apps as well. Protonmail, Fastmail, Zoho, Microsoft, and others, all have their own email apps.
For the most part nothing is revolutionary and they all more or less look and work like each other, so dont expect any huge changes between them.
