Not every one can receive OTA which is why the rest of us are either held hostage by our tv provider paying exorbitant STB fees or…missing out by ‘cutting the cord’ and going with online streaming providers. however the really smart people are looking for multiple tuner cable card options. Which is why i’m waiting somewhat patiently for Silicon Dust to come out with their CableCard Prime 6 (tuner) to replace my Ceton 4 Tuner cablecard unit.

    • Good points John. Interestingly enough, just today Nielsen reports that the number of over-the-air TV homes — those where viewers don’t subscribe to cable, telco or satellite services — has jumped 48% since 2010 to reach 16 million, or 14% of US households with televisions. Homes with at least one subscription-on-demand video service make up 8% of TV households in the US, or 9.4 million.
