A bandage helps protect a wound, but here’s one that actively helps you heal!
Traditional bandages simply cover a wound and protect it. Medications can help a wound heal faster, but different drugs are required at different times throughout the healing process. Researchers at the University of Connecticut have developed a smart bandage that actually dispenses different types of medicine to the wound as needed. The device includes tiny needles that penetrate the skin, along with circuitry that allows the bandage to receive instructions through wireless transmissions. This creates a bandage that can remain in place throughout the healing process, producing faster and better results.
