Andy asked: “I’ve been trying to go to the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas for about 5 years. Do you know how I can attend the show in 2019?”
Andy, CES is not open to the public, so you only have three options:
1) Be an exhibitor, if you’re willing to spend a lot of money on a booth, you’re in.
2) Be a buyer. This is not something you can just claim to be, they’ll want details about your business to check that it’s legitimate, and that you buy and resell consumer electronics and not, say, homemade candles.
3) Be some kind of accredited media. They define media as “broadcast media, industry analysts, key online influencers, online media and print media.” There are pretty tight requirements to qualify and if you’re not actually there to cover the show for a major outlet, you will probably be turned down.
And Andy, just so you know, you’re really not missing much… trade shows are not that fun, they’re basically convention centers filled with “that guy” at BestBuy that keeps trying to push the extended warranty on you.
