At an event in New York HTC announced the One A9
The A9 features Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) customized with it’s HTC Sense skin, they claim to create an “unrivaled smartphone experience,” in the spirit of celebrating the new Star Wars trailer, our reaction is below:
Interestingly enough, the CEO of the company the determined that stock Android was not good enough for their product, and that had to stick HTC Sense on top of it had this quote to share:
Yes, we know she’s bashing Apple, but talking about controlling every aspect of your phone right after mentioning they will fill theirs with crapware and an inferior theme we cannot disable to give us an “unrivaled smartphone experience” was not a smart decision.
Then again, she may not be bashing Apple, since her phone looks kind of like an iPhone clone.
Gorilla Glass 4, and high end cameras
The A9 features a 5 inch, Full HD AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass 4, a 13 MP rear camera with optical image stabilization, and a front facing camera with HTC’s UltraPixel sensor that claims to capture 300% more light than conventional smartphone cameras.
Interestingly, the phone’s cameras can save RAW images, which will probably do a number on the phone’s 16GB or 32GB of internal memory, but HTC points out it can be expanded to up to 2TB via SD cards.
The phone features a one-button enhance feature, but it will only work on hefty RAW images.
High quality sound
The HTC One A9 incorporates HTC BoomSound and Dolby Audio surround sound to deliver high quality audio, and can be purchased with optional noise canceling HTC Pro Studio Earphones.
