Putting Facial Recognition Software Back To Work After A Windows Upgrade

Listener Daniel in Ludowici, GA wants to know if his computer's face recognition software can work again

Windows 10 Hello

The Lenovo face recognition feature was called Veriface Pro, and unfortunately it’s not supported under Windows 10.

There really isn’t much of a workaround for that, you can try reinstalling it, but that reportedly doesn’t work either.

If you’re lucky you may be able to use a Windows 10 native feature called “Windows Hello” that uses facial recognition to log you into your computer, and when paired with another feature called “Passport” even lets you log into your favorite websites.

Windows Hello requires a depth camera, an expensive type of camera originally introduced by Intel that uses infrared to form a 3D image of your face that can see through makeup and beards.

The problem is that Windows Hello requires a depth camera, an expensive type of camera originally introduced by Intel that uses infrared to form a 3D image of your face that can see through makeup and beards.

Unfortunately, that means that most people cannot use Windows Hello, but give it a try, your computer is fairly new, so you may be one of the lucky ones!
