Beatrice asked: “Someone hacked my Facebook page. How do I get it back?”
Beatrice, Facebook is not very user friendly since you’re the product, not the client, so they’ll expect you to make a new account first.
After you have a new account you can go to your hacked account, click on the “…” at the top and click on “Report/Block,” then choose the option that says “This is my old account”.
That should then give you the option to recover it if you say it’s been hacked.
Make sure you don’t friend your old profile first, you can only do this if you’re not friends.
It’s a very convoluted system, but Facebook doesn’t seem to want to be any more helpful than that.
However, as long as you have control of the email address that was originally linked to your old Facebook account (the person who stole your account might have changed the address, but Facebook can see what address it was originally created using), you should be able to get your account back.
If you have lost control of the email account as well, then you’re in a much more difficult situation as you can’t establish easily that you were the account’s original creator.
