John in Montgomery, Alabama listens to the podcasts and asked: “I am a songwriter/composer and I have two Behringer mixers that I want to upgrade. I’ve been thinking of upgrading to the Mackie 16-channel, but I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about the new Behringer mixers. What I would like to know is what you guys use for your podcasts.”
Well, John, our podcasts and our radio show are one in the same. In fact weve been podcasting our radio broadcasts since long before they were called podcasts.
But as far as what we use you cant really go wrong with either Behringer or Mackie. Our main board in our control room is a 16-channel Mackie. Weve been using it for years and it has served us very well.
Now, connected to that main mixer, we have some sub-mixers. One is a Samson, another brand that is good, while not being too expensive. But our main mixer here in the studio is a Behringer. And the TWO that we use for everything when we are on a remote broadcast – back when we were able to do those – are both Behringers. Those weve upgraded through the years and have stayed with the newer version of that brand. They do their job and do it well.
