Darrell in Amherstburg, Ontario listens on AM800 CKLW and asked: “What I’d like to do is record a video of myself playing the banjo, as well as one accompanying myself on the guitar. Is there an app for my phone that can record split-screen, aligning the tempo so they both match? I have an LG G7 One phone, as well as an HP laptop with Windows 10.”

Darrell, technically yes there are, but they will be a constant source of frustration.

Just imagine trying to juggle two video tracks each with an audio track or two in a small screen, and trying to line up the audio tracks with the poor resolution that comes with dragging a finger across a screen.

Your best bet will be to use that HP laptop with just about any video editing software that supports at least 2 tracks. Just transfer the videos you take with your phone over to your laptop and try any video editing software. Odds are that even the free and simple programs will do a better job than the apps you can get on your phone for multitrack video editing.

Smartphone video editing apps are pretty great at what they do well, but what they do well is very limited and syncing audio on two different videos and switching back and forth will be a lot of work to be doing on a small screen.

Joey in Dublin, Virginia listens on WRAD and asked: “Question about Microsoft Office Online. I have a problem trying to log into it because I changed my e-mail address.”

Joey, it would be good to know what kind of problems youre having logging in.

If you changed the email address that you use for Microsofts online services they shouldve sent you a verification email and you should be able to use that email address to either log in or reset your password.

If you didnt change the email address and your problem is that you no longer have access to the email address that Microsoft is trying to use for 2FA or to otherwise check that you are who you say you are, thats a problem and you may be out of luck.

If youre a paid user, you can try contacting support and they may be able to verify you are who you say you are using your payment method, but if youre a free user and you are not offered a different way to verify your identity, you may just be locked out.

The processes used to verify your identity are there to protect your data and if you dont have a way to access them, they wont have a way to verify that you are who you say you are.

Having said that, if you can tell us more about the problems youre facing, we may be able to provide some alternative solutions to allow you to access your account.

As a last resort, you may need to make a new account with your new email address, cancel your old plan, and pay for a new one.
