Harry asked: “I’m thinking about getting another desktop. The one I have now does not have a built-in mic. I have a mic but the cable is so long, it’s amazing. Do you know of a desktop computer that has a built-in microphone?”
Harry, desktops don’t usually have built in microphones unless they’re built into the monitor.
The reason for that is that desktops are usually far away from the user’s face and would struggle to pick up their voice over the background noise in the room.
Some people also put the CPU part of desktop computers inside desks or hide them away somewhere they won’t be in the way.
You may be able to find a monitor with a built in microphone and all you’d have to do is connect that monitor to the CPU and speak directly into it as you would with a laptop computer.
You can also buy webcams that you can clip onto your monitor and those typically come with a built in microphone, so that may be an inexpensive way to achieve what you’re after.
