Backing Up Apps To A Computer

Richard in Mt. Hermon, Louisiana asked us about backing up his apps on his laptop

Richard asked: “Enjoying listening to you guys. I am trying to transfer all my apps from my android phone to my Acer laptop so I can free up my phone’s memory.”

Richard, there are a few apps you can install that will move your apps to the SD card, you can copy them on to the computer from there, either by plugging it in directly or by connecting the phone as a USB storage device.

You can try Android Assistance or File Explorer, both of those work pretty much the same way, you choose the apps you want to back up and tap back up.

You can also try AirDroid which will let you access your phone using a browser, from there you can select “Apps“ and download any that you may want to back up.

You should also be able to just redownload them again for free from the Google Play store, but if you prefer to have a local backup, those options show help you do it.
