CEA joins Into Tomorrow to discuss the top tech products that consumers can’t get enough of:
A new study from the Consumer Electronics Association says tech industry revenues will hit an all-time high in 2015. Danielle Cassagnol has the top tech products that consumers can’t seem to get enough of, in this week’s “CEA Update.”
Many of us can hardly imagine what our lives were like before smartphones, tablets and laptops kept us constantly connected to the world. CEA’s U.S. Consumer Electronics Sales and Forecasts study finds these products to remain the largest revenue categories in 2015 contributing over 53% of the entire tech industry’s revenues.
Smartphones are the clear leading sales category, with unit shipments projected to reach $177 million in 2015 generating a ten percent revenue increase from last year.
Unit sales of tablets are slowing but still projected to reach $73 million this year
And laptops are the strongest growth category in computing with almost 28 million unit shipments in 2015, a nine percent increase since 2014.
