Jamie asked: “I’m having an issue with the image on my television. I have Uverse and a 32″ AOC television. The problem I’m having is it’s cutting off the left and right side of whatever show I’m watching. I’ve tried every combination of zoom between the two devices. Can you help me out?”
Jamie, if your TV is older and is not a full HD TV, make sure your UVerse box is set to 720p, not 1080. That causes trouble sometimes.
If that’s not the source of your problems, your TV MAY have vertical and horizontal adjustment, in your case it may not be very helpful because you’re seeing cut off portions on both sides, your TV may have a fine tuning setting for the whole image’s scale, that would shrink the image on all sides and it may be just what you need.
Generally speaking, the main zoom settings on AOC TVs are simple, if the content is HD, set it to wide, if it’s SD, set it to the square setting, if it’s SD and you still want it to take up the whole screen, that’s when you choose “zoom.” If you’re seeing HD content on an HD capable TV, Wide should be the default setting on your AOC TV.
