The COVID-19 crisis has put healthcare workers at risk, but a new thermometer can help keep them safe.
The virus crisis has taken a toll on healthcare workers, many of whom have contracted the disease through contact with infected patients. Monitoring a patient’s temperature is critical for treatment, however, and this often requires getting close to the patient. A connected thermometer is now in use in Asia that provides continuous temperature readings over a wireless connection, and can be used to track multiple patients both in hospital settings and for remote monitoring of patients quarantined at home. This system can lighten the workload for healthcare workers while helping limit their direct contact with contagious patients.
