Microsoft unveiled it’s first laptop ever: the Surface Book
The Surface Book has a 13.5″ screen, Skyline Core i5 and i7 processors, an Nvidia GeForce to handle graphics and two USB 3.0 ports.
The Surface Book’s screen detaches from it’s keyboard base, and the graphics card is housed in the dock section so its power won’t be available when the screen is detached.
Microsoft seemed very excited about the laptop’s backlit keyboard, which they called perfect and nearly silent.
“The fastest 13-inch laptop ever made anywhere on any planet”
Microsoft claim that their Surface Book is twice as fast as a MacBook Pro (probably the 13.3″ inch version, since they pointed out the size), and has a good 12-hours of battery.
Not a budget laptop
The Surface Book will sell for $1499 and up, and will be available starting October 26th.
