I bet you haven’t started your holiday shopping yet. But have you thought about “how” you’ll shop for tech gifts this year? Lexie de los Santos with the Consumer Electronics Association shares some new insights into our holiday tech gift plans in this week’s “CEA Update.”
CEA’s 22nd Annual CE Holiday Purchase Patterns Study reveals that most consumers tend to wait to shop until Black Friday, believing that’s when they’ll get the best deals! And “how” we’ll do all our shopping for tech gifts is evolving.
According to CEA’s research, more than half of us plan to shop for tech online this year. But even with the excitement for online shopping, traditional retail channels are still our go-to for tech gift purchases with 77 percent of us likely to purchase from a brick-and-mortar location.
Mobile channels are also becoming more important with each holiday season. CEA says more than two-thirds of consumers will use a mobile device to help them shop for consumer tech. And consumers of all ages are using their mobile tech devices to help with holiday purchases with 74 percent of 35-54 year olds planning to use their smartphone or tablet to help them shop!
Chris brought us some products to help you find your tech on this Product Spotlight.
