Ricoh has partnered with Google for its new Theta S
Ricoh announced today the Ricoh Theta S, the newest model in the Ricoh Theta 360-degree cameras.
The camera is capable of high resolution, fully spherical photos and videos in one shot, a live WiFi preview function, more compatibility with social media platforms, and the ability to upload photospheres to Google Maps.
The Theta S captures nearly 14 megapixels images, and can record spherical video clips in full HD at 30fps of up to 25 minutes in length.
Google Maps today introduced a new standalone Google Street View app that allows users to capture and publish photo spheres instantly to Google Maps.
The app also offers the ability to shoot photo spheres and to connect to spherical cameras, like the Theta S, a feature that was highlighted by a Google employee at the press conference.
