“News Pick of the Week” with Ralph Bond

The US Army offers a host of career pathways for its officers. Everything from combat arms to special forces. This week Ralph Bond tells us the Army has a new career path that reflects the rapidly evolving high-tech world our armed forces live in now.

Read more here.

John in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina asked: “Hey guys, I just was listening to the last week, one of the week before shows, and y’all were talking about that ghost murmur stuff that CIA, about how they rescued the paratrooper or whatnot from Iran, and I think that’s pretty amazing. But then it got me thinking, why don’t they use that for missing children or missing people, individuals that have gone by the wayside, you know what I mean? And maybe even Nancy Guthrie, right? Hopefully she still is with us and there’s a heartbeat to track. Do you think they’ll be getting some use out of it, out of this ghost murmur thing in civilian society? Just wondering what you think. Thank you.”

John, at this point we dont really know what this technology can really do.

In the future, it could be a useful tool to local missing children or other individuals, but for the moment its capabilities are not publicly known, so we cant really say yet.

For example, for all we know, it may be useless in an area where there are many heartbeats and other noises, like a wooded area with deer or bears.

Another thing to consider is that carrots do not improve your eyesight.

That is to say, that carrots improving your eyesight was British propaganda to justify how effectively their soldiers were able to shoot down German planes in World War 2. What actually improved the shooters eyesight was a brand new technology called radar.

Also in World War 2, the Ghost Army was made up of lots and lots of inflatable tanks and recorded sounds to fool the enemy. Both worked.

Ghost Murmur is being introduced during war time, so it may be what were told it is, it may not exist and they may have paid off some people for information, or may it be far more powerful.

Right now worrying the other side or throwing them off may be the most valuable aspect of all of this, and whether this technology does what were told it does or even exists may not be known for a long time.
