Billy in Simpsonville, South Carolina asked: “Apple is supposed to release their Ai with the Apple 16, but it’s available in the stores now without the Ai. They were the originators of this whole thing. When are they gonna do this? Are they ever gonna do it or are they just too far behind now?”

Billy, Apple announced some time before the iOS 18 release that Apple Intelligence would be coming out later in the year as part of the 18.1 version.

There is no official firm date for the release, but unofficially sources have said that it’s likely to come out on October 28th.

If you’re not upgrading to the iPhone 16 keep in mind that Ai is intensive and has hardware requirements and only a few of the older models will fully support it. Unless you have an iPhone 16 or an iPhone 15 Pro model, you wont be able to benefit from the new features.

Outside of iPhones, if you have an M1 or newer MacBook or iPad, you will have access to Apple Intelligence when its released.
