Gail in St. Simons Island, Georgia participating with the AskDave button at IntoTomorrow.com”I really enjoy using my Brother label maker. But I want to know how to reduce the margin on each side of the word I’m labeling. I’m using a lot of the tape for these margins and I’d like to know how to reduce them.”

Gail, your mileage may vary depending on the specific model youre using, but the generic instructions look like this:

Press the function key, then navigate with the arrow keys until you get to Margins, press OK to go in the margin settings.

In there youll see a list of options. Something like Full, Half, Narrow, and Chain Print.

Since you want to reduce the margins, Narrow would likely be the best setting for you. Typically that one will shrink your margins to 1/6th of an inch on either side.

Once you find the margin setting you prefer just press OK again and you should be all set.

If your options dont look like that, you may need to look into the specific settings for your particular model. The Brother website has manuals for the different models and would be a good place to start.
