Apple Announces New iPhones, AirPods, And Watch

Apple held an event today to announce updates to their iPhone, AirPods, and Watch lines.

iPhone 14

The iPhone 14 comes in several models starting with the one named “iPhone 14”, which is the basic version which uses the same A15 processor as the iPhone 13 but with a new 5-core GPU, and the same 12MP camera, but with a larger sensor for better low light pictures. The iPhone 14 starts at $799.

The iPhone 14 Plus is the large screen version of the iPhone 14, it features a 6.7 inch screen, which the basic iPhone 14 features a 6.1 inch screen and it has a larger battery. The rest of the hardware stays the same. The iPhone 14 Plus starts at $899.

The iPhone 14 Pro is getting a new chip, a 4-nanometer A16 Bionic and a 48MP main camera. The notch on this model was replaced by a “dynamic island” that features animations and notifications.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is the large screen version of the iPhone 14 Pro, it features a 6.7 inch screen to the iPhone 14’s 6.1 inch screen. The iPhone 14 Pro starts at $999, which the iPhone 14 Pro Max starts at $1099.

Apple also updated the Apple Watch line.

The Apple Watch 8 is similar to the Watch 7, but it features a new temperature sensor and a low power mode that double the battery life. The Watch 8 starts at $399.

The Apple Watch SE is also similar to previous models but it now features the Watch 8’s crash detection and low power mode. The Watch SE starts at $249.

The Apple Watch Ultra is brand new and it features a 49mm titanium case, sapphire crystal, twice the battery life from the previous models, and is more rugged including better water resistance that allows it to act as a diving computer. The Watch Ultra starts at $799.

AirPods Pro 2

The AirPods Pro 2 get a new H2 chip and a new driver. Noise cancellation and battery life are both improved (now at 6 hours). The AirPods Pro 2 cost $249.
