Happy Hour …. Virtually

While people are confined to their homes practicing social distancing, it’s hard to get together for celebrations let alone even simple things like Happy Hour.

Technology is playing a major part in bringing people together while staying apart.

Holidays, special occasions and even the end of the work week are a time where family and friends get together to celebrate and socialize. However nowadays we have had to get creative in how we are gathered together while still keeping everyone safe.

One of the most largely missed social gatherings are Happy Hours and people are not letting social distancing keep them from enjoying some.

Whether you want to “gather many friends or just a few you can utilize one of many online tools like Skype, Zoom, Google Hangouts and any other conferencing platforms you may find. Just schedule a time and day you want to host your gathering and let your guests know the proper login information.

Use your tech ahead of time to look up favorite drinks and appetizers that you can prepare and have on hand. Pick a spot in or outside your home where you can set up your online device and enjoy those snacks while you visit. Get dressed up just like you’re going out (or stay comfy if that’s your choice) and settle in for a fun gathering of friends!

You can choose different screen views so you can have a grid with each member of your “Happy Hour” in view while you sit in the safety and comfort of your own home enjoying their company.

Some celebrities are even getting in the game with virtual happy hours and parties. You can even join Snoop Dog for a virtual roller skating happy hour on Instagram!

Computers and smartphones are great devices for these “meetups”. iPhone users can use Facetime to add a guest or two and there are many apps available including the video conferencing that you would use on your larger computers.

Be sure to also download our Free Into Tomorrow App to join us for the latest in tech and share with us your favorite way to socialize while keeping your distance!

Stay safe and keep celebrating your tech!
