Tom asked: “I was wondering if you guys could help me. I need an inexpensive website tool. A place that would host a website, make it easy to create a website and be easy to maintain.”
Tom, if you’re looking for quick and easy, you can look at one of the many website builder services out there.
SquareSpace will let you create a website for around $12/month as long as you stay under 20 pages, and your site will be modern looking and responsive.
Weebly lets you build free sites as long as you’re ok with them putting their own ads on them, otherwise you can pay them $8 and have your own ad-free site.
Wix is even cheaper at $4 a month.
WordPress.com will host your small site on one of their addresses for free, but customizing it may be a little harder and not all themes or plugins are free. WordPress does have an edge though, you can take your site elsewhere if you ever need to.
The rest of the services use their own engines in the background, but you can port your WordPress site to any server that can handle a WordPress installation. Depending on what kind of site you’re running, that may be useful in the future, if you dont want to have to start from scratch.
