National Recycling Day is happening this Sunday and it’s a great time to recycle your tech.
With ever advancing electronics and people always upgrading to the latest and greatest, we are overloading landfills with old tech. This is causing major environmental and health problems because of the hazardous toxins some of the materials contain.
Mercury, lead, nickel and cadmium found in tv and computer monitors, computers, flat panel displays and rechargeable batteries are among the top toxins.
Many communities offer free recycling at their facilities and some even offer special dates they will pick up old electronics from your home, just check with your local government offices to see what they offer.
