The Best New Tech for Homeowners in 2016

When you think about the current world and all of the technology that is constantly coming out, there are more than enough opportunities to tap into the top levels of technology for your home. However, you don’t just want the technology to help build a home in general, you also want to have the ability to be able to live with top levels of tech and make your life easier and more convenient. When it comes time to consider installing better technology into your home and starting the process of making your residence a smart home, make sure you consider my three favorites.

Remote (Phone) Controlled Features

Whether you are working late, on vacation, or just don’t want to get up from your bed before you go to sleep at night, you can control many of your functions these days thanks to the ability of having control right in your phone. With smart technology you can control anything from your locks, lights, or even the temperature in addition to many more perks on the way. One of the greatest things is knowing that as the house becomes even more integrated all of the time you will be able to control the majority of your home all from the touch of your finger to your phone. As these technologies continue to improve we are seeing savings come along with them. Whether it’s savings on your heating bill while you’re away or insurance savings due to your high tech automated security system.

When you also consider the technology to control these features will allow you to monitor the status of these items soon enough, then you can truly see why it is so important to have these functions built right into your home. By being able to see when your doors are unlocked, when your lights come on, or even know when the temperature is dropping or rising, then you can better control and manage your entire home.

Light Timers

By having light timers you can add some of the simplest lighting features right to your home that will still make a major difference. Something as simple as having lighting systems that will go on and off at set intervals is one thing, but having additional features can be the perfect touch on any house. When you consider having dimmer switches on times as well as adding in different colored lighting, you can see why a homeowner would fall in love with this capability. Having a bright light to keep the home awake during the day is wonderful, but having the lights strategically start to turn into a soft glow means you can be done with the day and have your evening begin.

Smart Refrigerator

If you haven’t seen the advertising for the smart refrigerators yet, then you haven’t seen much advertising recently at all. When it comes to dealing with what groceries you have in the fridge, what needs to be replaced, or even what you need to purchase at the store, the new system makes it all easier. Plus, when you consider how you can even organize your grocery lists and keep track of expiration dates, the ways a smart fridge will improve your life is going to be tremendous.=

As you can see there are a tremendous amount of options that can improve your home. The newest of technologies are not only amazing, however, they are currently available. If you want the high end finishes and the full functionality of these technologies, then you can have them both today.

Energy Efficient Thermostats

If you think about the specifics of energy efficiency, then you already know it will be the next frontier in the world of home savings. Energy costs are not only continuing to rise, but the administrative costs to monitor and sell energy from the companies to the consumer are increasing at every point in the line. That’s exactly why brand new technologies and processes are being invented all of the time to minimize the costs of energy bills within the home. Items from the more efficient watt-hour meter capabilities, to brand new insulation materials and processes, and even the way that energy efficient thermostats behave and operate are all helping to minimize the cost of home heating and cooling. Anything you can do to keep the costs of energy to a minimum will be very beneficial when it comes time to read your energy bills.
