Dave and the team discuss Lowe’s AR app, Twitter focusing workers on user growth, and more.
Terry in Carthage, Missouri listens online and is participating using our AppRequested Jabra Earbuds and asked: “I’ve got a Ring security system that, when I depart my house, if I set the alarm on the keypad, it says I have 45 seconds to exit. As soon as I open my back door, the alarm goes off before I can exit. I can’t figure out how to get past that. Only thing I can do is arm it after I leave, with my remote. And it won’t let me come into the house and disarm it, I have to do everything remotely. If you can give an answer to this, I would appreciate it.”
Terry, the arming delay on Ring security systems is configurable and it can be set to anything from 0 to 180 seconds.
If the 45 seconds yours is currently set to are not enough for you to make it out or make it in and disarm the alarm, then you can open the Ring app and do the following:
First tap the hamburger menu (the 3 lines on the upper left side of the screen.
Then go to Settings.
From there go to Modes.
That will let you choose between Home and Away, since youre trying to change the settings for when you leave the house, select Away.
Then tap on Entry Delay and enter the new delay you want to use.
Obviously, you can otherwise continue to use the remote if you prefer.
