Seems hard to believe but kids are beginning their journey back to school and whether that journey will take them to a school building or online class, technology is helping in a major way!
First thing you’ll want to check is your school’s website for important information and tips to make your experience the best it can be. You can also check with your school district to see any other helpful information you may need to know including safety rules and requirements.
One of the top pieces of information you need to know, especially if your child is going back to the school building, is what type of vaccines are required for your child. Most every school will list these requirements along with the date they need to be fulfilled by right there on their site. You can also check with the CDC for facts and information on these vaccines.
While you’re online you can check the school’s other departments including their food services to see online menus for breakfast and lunch and some even allow you the opportunity to deposit money into your child’s lunch account without the hassle of having to send it with them to possibly get lost. Along with checking what’s for breakfast or lunch, you can also apply for financial assistance for meals. There may also be information on how they will be receiving and consuming their meals with the health restrictions set in place.
As the students and parents adjust schedules and get back in the swing of the school year, one of their most used tech items will be the alarm clock and whether you’re low tech or high tech you probably need one. The alarms on smartphones are pretty good these days and since you usually always have your phone with you, you won’t have to worry about not having your alarm.
There are also some really cool alarm clocks available that will help get your kids up including ones that will actually run away from them to get them out of bed to catch it!
And be sure to take full advantage of the tech offered in your digital calendars and organizers since that is a great way for families to keep track of each others’ busy school year schedules.
Wishing all of our friends a happy and safe back to school!
