Sony Releases A Small Camera With A Big Full Frame Sensor

The palm-sized RX1R II camera comes with a 42.4 MP Full-Frame image sensor

Sony’s latest camera joins the RX1 and the original RX1R in the RX compact camera lineup

Sony says the RX1R II delivers the best quality of any CyberShot camera ever, and it features a 42.4 MP sensor, an F2.0 35mm lens and an OLED viewfinder that retracts when it’s not in use.

The RX1R II also features a fast speed autofocus with 399 focal plane phase-detection points that cover about 45% of the image area, and 25 contrast autofocus points that work with them to improve the cameras focus speed about 30% over the previous model.

WiFi and application compatibility

The camera is WiFi and NFC enabled and works with Sony’s PlayMemories app for remote shooting.

Pricing and availability:

• Price: $3300
• Available: November 2015
